It’s no secret that 2023 five-star recruit Arch Manning is one of the most sought-after quarterback prospects in history.

Manning is rated the No. 1 overall prospect from Louisiana, the No. 1 overall player at his position, and the No. 3 recruit in the country for the 2023 cycle according to 247Sports. He has an impressive 0.9990 grade.

For comparison, former Texas star Vince Young had a perfect grade of 1.0000. We’re all aware of how Young’s collegiate career at Texas ended with the miraculous 4th-down scramble to win the national championship.

Fortunately for the Longhorns, they’re in prime position to potentially land Manning as their quarterback of the future. Only a handful of programs appear to be in the running for his services at this point, including Clemson and Alabama alongside Texas.

It goes without saying that landing Manning would be a monumental recruiting win for head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff.

Let’s take a look at where Manning ranks among Texas quarterback signees since 2000.
