A new coaching staff and a good bit of roster attrition this offseason have led to a Texas football team that will look vastly different this fall compared to 2020. New head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are attempting to take this program to a new level and finally get that elusive Big 12 Championship that has gotten away from this team for more than 10 years.

Sark and the Longhorns wrapped up spring ball on April 24 following the conclusion of the Orange-White Game at DKR. And they are about to begin summer workouts, with a new group of enrollees set to be added to the program this weekend.

Texas is also roughly at the 100-days mark before the kickoff of their regular season schedule for the upcoming college football campaign. It all begins for Sark and the Longhorns at home on Sep. 4 against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, with a recently set kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. CT.

Continued roster movement for Texas football well ahead of fall camp

There’s not likely to be much roster movement for Sark and the Longhorns in terms of depth chart switches throughout summer workouts. New additions to the program and any injuries that surface are about all that are likely to significantly impact the depth chart through summer.

Fall camp will be when a lot of tough decisions are made by this new coaching staff. And that process is likely to last well into the start of the regular season as Sark tries to further evaluate what skill sets he’s working with in his first year as head coach.

Here’s a look into three Longhorns players that could lose their starting role this fall under the new coaching staff.
