Texas A&M Football

The Texas A&M Football team doesn’t really need any help recruiting. Since Jimbo Fisher’s arrival, every single Aggie recruiting class has been ranked in the top ten. Fisher and his staff have done a great job of bringing in the country’s best talent to bolster their chances of winning an SEC title and a national championship.

More realistically though, there are steps that can be taken to bring recruiting to the next level.

For starters, the Aggies are facing tough competition from a recruiting standpoint in the Southeastern Conference. Even though each of their classes has been in the top ten, they haven’t had a class ranked higher than 3rd in their own conference.

They may have just gotten a boost to help their chances of climbing the ladder.

The Texas A&M Football team added defensive analyst Nick Williams to the staff

Just when you thought the Aggies didn’t need any more help recruiting, they brought in a guy who could be key down the road when it comes to recruiting. Announced via social media, Nick Williams was recently signed to the Texas A&M Football staff.

Williams was a graduate assistant at Georgia who primarily focused on the defensive line, an area where TAMU already thrives. He was a former player for the Bulldogs, coming in as a quarterback and switching to defensive back and linebacker by the time his career wrapped up with Georgia.

He was key in the recruitment of a handful of 5-star recruits as a graduate assistant, specializing in on-campus recruiting. He was also constantly in contact with recruits, via direct messages and phone calls.

In College Station, Williams will be given a bigger role to work with. It may not seem significant now, but this is a signing that could pay off for Jimbo Fisher in a huge way down the road. This is a move that lets the rest of the SEC know that the Aggies are trying to bring the best talent in the country to their program.

Look for subtle, but noticeable improvements in each Aggie recruiting class as signings like this pile up for Fisher and company.
